About

Blake Bassett is an 19 year old singer songwriter from Cheshire, Connecticut who is absolutely in love with music. From a young age, she could never get her hands off anything that made noise.

Her family has never been happy about it, but you know. They learned to deal.

In February of 2015 she released her first EP, Heartbeat. It is oddly upbeat for songs with a darker theme, she includes the likes of Ingrid Michaelson, Bright Eyes, and Priscilla Ahn to create an oddly blue but charming feel. Her own original song, and namesake of the EP, "Heartbeat", plays along with the existing theme to paint a picture of a summer romance gone wrong.

Blake describes her music to be of the singer songwriter genre, pulling from the roots of anti-folk and alternative music. She calls her biggest influences (And #WCW's) to be Ingrid Michelson, and Regina Specktor.

As it stands now, she's working on a music degree at UCONN while simultaneously working on her debut album. There is no set release date as of late. Also, she also has her own radio show on WHUS 2, Called "Local Linuep". Tune in on Saturday Nights at 6PM for a taste of some local talent!
